"The Federal Communications Commission should review the foreign interests behind the proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger, Commissioner Anna Gomez says in a statement.

  • Foreign governments and their representatives are prohibited from owning the FCC-regulated broadcast licenses of CBS, a Paramount subsidiary, under federal law, the statement says
  • “Any indirect foreign ownership above 25 percent requires Commission approval after a serious look into whether that arrangement serves the American public and protects our national security..."
