The Federal Trade Commission has the authority to pursue its suit in federal court accusing Amazon.com Inc. of running an online marketplace monopoly, a judge ruled.

Judge John H. Chun of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington on April 8 denied Amazon’s motion to enter judgment on the agency’s claims that the company improperly stifled competition.

The order means the agency can move ahead on a case the FTC first brought in 2023 under the Biden administration, underscoring a bipartisan antitrust focus on the power of Big Tech.
